Overview
Carol Davila University is a public medical institution located in Romania. Established in 1857, it has a long history of medical education. For Indian students seeking an international medical degree, the university offers an MBBS program conducted in English, ensuring that students can follow the curriculum without an initial language barrier. The program spans a total duration of 6 years, with the academic intake typically occurring in October.
Fees & Cost
Understanding the financial commitment is essential for any aspirant. The annual tuition fee for the MBBS program at Carol Davila University is 10,800 USD, which is approximately Rs 9.2 lakh per year. In addition to tuition, students should budget for accommodation, with hostel fees estimated at 1,300 USD annually. When accounting for tuition and living expenses over the course of the degree, the total program cost is 72,800 USD.
Recognition & FMGE
For Indian graduates, the most critical factor is the ability to practice medicine back home. Carol Davila University is NMC approved, which is a vital requirement for Indian students. However, it is important to note that the university is not listed with the WHO/WDOMS or FAIMER, and it is not eligible for the ECFMG/USMLE pathway.
Regardless of where a student completes their medical degree abroad, passing the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is mandatory to obtain a license to practice in India. Because the FMGE is a challenging exam, students are advised to focus heavily on their clinical preparation and theoretical knowledge during their six years of study to ensure a successful transition back to the Indian healthcare system.
Who Should Consider Carol Davila University
This university is a viable option for students looking for a public institution in Europe with a legacy dating back to the mid-19th century. It suits candidates who prefer an English-medium curriculum and are comfortable with the 6-year program structure. Since the university is NMC approved, it meets the primary regulatory requirement for returning to India, provided the student is diligent in their FMGE preparation.

Back in the old days of the '90s,there were only a few cars in the parking of the faculty:some BMWs of the Greek students, some Mercedes of the Arab students and a few Dacias of the personnel.Romanian student didn't have a car, most of them coming from province.

Old but not easy is attending there for hard working romanian students, but for others it is a well known university and taxes are low. You can achieve some Erasmus Programme.
