Visit the official NMC website at nmc.org.in and check the Information Desk section. Look for the list of recognized foreign medical institutions. The university name and country should appear in this official list. You can also contact the NMC helpline for verification.

Can I practice medicine in India after MBBS abroad?

Yes, graduates from recognized foreign medical universities can practice in India after clearing the FMGE examination. You also need to complete a 12 month internship at a recognized hospital in India. After this you can register with your State Medical Council and start practicing.

What is FMGE pass rate and why is it important?

FMGE pass rate shows the percentage of students from a university who clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. The national average is around 20 percent. Universities with pass rates above 30 percent provide better education quality. Some top universities achieve 50 to 60 percent pass rates.

Is NEET required for MBBS abroad?

Yes, NEET qualification is mandatory for Indian students seeking MBBS admission abroad since 2018. You need a valid NEET scorecard at the time of admission. There is no minimum cutoff but you must have appeared and qualified the examination.

What happens if I study at a non-recognized university?

Your MBBS degree will not be valid in India. You cannot appear for FMGE and cannot obtain a license to practice medicine in India. Always verify NMC recognition before taking admission at any foreign medical university.

What are the eligibility requirements for MBBS abroad?
